GRANDVIEW RANCH HORSES FOR SALE PRICING, SHIPPING, AND POLICIESAt Grandview Ranch, our goal is to find the right fit for our wonderful horses. We really care where our horses end up, and if we don't think our horse is the right fit for you, we won't sell you the horse. Unlike a lot of horse sellers, we don't have to sell a horse TODAY. In our view, there are three kinds of horse sellers out there: 1. Competent professionals who really know their horses and demand top dollar for their animals; 2. Backyard hobbyists who really don't know anything about horses, and can get you hurt on one of their spoiled, lazy, disrepectful backyard babies; 3. Horse traders who buy horses at auctions and flip them to the public two weeks later for three times the money they paid. There's no way they can know the horse in that period of time. We fit in the first category. Many of our horses for sale have been in our herd for three or four years. Some of them we have raised from foals. We started most of them under saddle, and we know what they can and can't do. Consequently, our horses will command a higher price than other horses for sale. You're paying for the time we've invested in our animals and for our experience and knowledge. Our policies are designed to protect you, the buyer, and to reward us, the sellers, for our extensive investment in our animals. SHOWING APPOINTMENTSWe often take 2-3 hours to show horses to our clients. Show up on time and prepared. If you have your own saddle, bring it. Wear riding attire. Wear good boots. Don't show up in shorts and sandals to view our horses. We can instantly tell that you're not serious. Do not cancel or show up late. We are busy people, and we set aside time in our schedules to show animals. If you cancel because your fiancee' couldn't re-schedule her manicure (no kidding, we've been told this), the price on each horse goes up $250 next time you come. PRICINGOur prices are firm. From time to time, we might make a deal on a horse, but that's OUR decision. If you are truly interested in a horse and the price seems far too high for your budget, email or call first and ask if we might be willing to come down on price. Typically, the answer will be no. If you consider all the hours and money we've put into our horses for sale, you wouldn't ask us to lower the price. OUR SALES ARE FINALIf you ride our horse on our property, or if you take him on a ride with us up in the mountains, you're getting the real deal, and we encourage you to be thoroughly comfortable with your buying decision. If you decide you like the horse, he's yours to take home when you write the check. We know our horses. Once a lady told us that the horse we sold her was unmanageable. I gave her another horse and brought the "unmanageable" horse back. The next day I put a 10-year-old girl on the horse for a two-hour ride in the mountains with absolutely no problems. Obviously the problem was the woman's horsemanship, not the horse. If you need riding lessons, we can accommodate that request, too. SHIPPINGBig, powerful trucks that can pull a horse trailer are expensive to purchase and run, and our time is valuable, too. If we have time in our schedules, we may be willing to deliver your horse at $3.00 per loaded mile. Otherwise, there are many horse transportation companies that are very competent and familiar with hauling horses. SOUNDNESS CHECKSWe will tell you if we think there are any soundness issues with the horse you're buying. Be aware, however, that our horses have been used in the mountains and they've been RIDDEN. We've seen veterinarians hyper-flexing horses' legs and joints, pulling and poking and prodding on the poor animal for two hours at a stretch. You'd get sensitive and sore, too, if a doctor did that to you. Veterinarians are like |
